How Ricoom Jobs uses cookies to provide sign-in and keep accounts secure.

Essential sign-in cookie

When you sign in, Ricoom Jobs stores a cookie named SESSION so you remain authenticated while using the service.

  • It is used only to maintain your sign-in session.
  • It expires after seven days or when you sign out.
  • It is marked HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax.

This cookie is necessary for account features. Blocking it will prevent sign-in sessions from working.

Analytics and advertising

Ricoom Jobs plans to introduce analytics and advertising cookies. They are not currently active.

Before enabling optional cookies that process personal data, we will explain their purposes and providers and request a clear, affirmative choice where consent is the legal basis. Optional cookies will not be set before that choice. You will be able to reject optional cookies and change or withdraw your choice later without affecting the essential sign-in cookie.

We will update this policy before those cookies are introduced to describe the information collected, how it is used, and any relevant service providers or transfers.

Kenya data protection and consent

The Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019 requires personal data to be handled lawfully, fairly, and transparently for specified purposes (section 25). Under the Act, consent is a free, specific, informed, and unambiguous indication of agreement (section 2). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before it (section 32).

The Act also provides data-subject rights, including the right to be informed, access personal data, object to processing, request correction, and request deletion, subject to applicable legal limits (section 26).
